Information-Education-Communication (IEC) Campaigns under the Nexus project are primarily carried out for socioeconomically disadvantaged women and children in peri-urban areas. While topics depend on the specific event and audience, personal hygiene (including effective hand-washing techniques), menstrual hygiene, household-level management of solid waste, and adequate maintenance of toilets are most frequently discussed. As of June 2017, 2,190 individuals have been trained in a total of 14 events, most of them conducted in Devanahalli Town, Karnataka and its surroundings. During the events, informational and supporting materials in both English and Kannada (local language of Karnataka), are distributed to the participants.
